Geotechnical Properties of Soil Slopes of the Great Musaiyab Project, Babylon, Middle of Iraq

The research deals with the study of geotechnical properties soil banks Great Musaiyab Project in province Babylon central Iraq, as it includes physical, chemical, engineering, and mineral properties. results physical tests showed that grain size distribution silt was higher than clay sand at a rate 36.91%, 30.9% 31.06%, average maximum dry density values 1.9125g/cm3. specific weight 2.69, chemical percentage carbonates (17.98%, gypsum 0.7075%, sulfates 0.3282%, organic substances 2.7435%, total salts soluble 1.7193%. engineering indicated direct shear test cohesion value ranged between 0 50 KN/m2, internal friction angle 7 37, unconfined pressure resistance ratio 3 48 KN/m2. While metal using ray diffraction XRD, which content soil, consisted mainly calcite, quartz, feldspar, addition to minerals.
